in late 2000 i spent several months traveling in asia.
i spent most of the time in thailand; i traveled in cambodia for a couple of weeks and i stopped off in tokyo for just a few days on the way home.

about the site: it's served up by a content database system that i wrote from scratch using php4 and mysql. a single template drives the entire site! a script builds the database based on the photos that you feed it, then you can add descriptions for any photo or section using a browser-based admin tool. if you're familiar with php and mysql you're free to use it to build your own photo sites; just ask me for the source code.
